Pastor Charles I Hahn

Background:

The Rev. Charles I. Hahn is now the pastor at FUMC Seagoville. Prior to his appointment here, Charlie was the pastor for Friendship United Methodist Church in Sherman, Texas. He was there for six years.

Prior to that appointment Charles accepted the position of Lay Pastor at Verona Memorial UMC on August 2, 1988 and served there until 2001. He graduated from Methodist Licensing School in May of 1999. In June of 1999 the FUMC of Blue Ridge and Verona became a charge and he served both churches for two years.

Charlie attended Course of Study at Perkins, SMU, in the summer of 2000, taking two classes and he has been going to weekend Course of Study since December of 2000. He has completed all the twenty classes required in the first phase of the Course of Study program in August of 2005. Additionally, he took a course in listening and speaking at Collin County Community College.

Family:

On the personal side, Charlie and Joyce are newlyweds. They were married on January 7, 2008 and between them they have 8 grown children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was born and raised in Roseville, Michigan and lived there until graduating from high school. Upon graduation he joined the Air Force and had a very interesting career for 29 years, traveling to most of Europe, Turkey, and Philippines, Panama, Japan, Canada and nearly all 50 states. He had many different assignments during his military career. They included being in the Security Service and copying Russian Morse Code for two years. He also spent many years in Intelligence, Administration, and Aircraft Maintenance. Charlie retired from the Air Force in August of 1994 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant E8.
